Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks will wrap up the NHL 2021-22 preseason with a Saturday evening clash. The home side heads to this match with a 3-3 record, and they want to end the preseason in a positive fashion. The visitors have a 2-4 record, and they look forward to celebrating the third win.
Los Angeles managed to break their two-game losing record with a victory over the Ducks on the road. They now host the same opponent and will search for a double win against them. Anaheim booked just one victory in the previous five games, and that one came against the Sharks after the penalty shootout. The away side lost against the Kings on their ice, and they search for an improvement in this one.
Los Angeles Kings – Will they improve the offense this season?
The Kings had a disappointing season last time, as they were pretty far from the playoffs spot. Los Angeles finished the regular season with a 21-28-7 record, being 14 points behind St. Louis Blues. Although the Kings haven’t been too bad in defense, they struggled a lot in the offense and were the second inefficient team in the Western Division. They need to do much better in front of the oppositions’ goal to become competitive in the race for the playoffs spot in the Pacific Division.
Los Angeles were solid in the front during the preseason, as they have been scoring almost three goals per match on average. The Kings netted six times against Anaheim, although they generated only 29 shots. Despite being 3:0 down, the Kings managed to turn around the result with Arthur Kaliyevscoring three goals. On the other hand, Calvin Petersen had a good game between the sticks, as he had 39 saves from 42 opponent attempts, which launched his save percentage to .929.
Expected Line-Up: Calvin Petersen, Sean Walker, Mikey Anderson, Vladimir Tkachev, Lias Andersson, Arthur Kaliyev

Anaheim Ducks – Can they do better this time?
Anaheim Ducks were the second-worst NHL team in the 2020-21 season, and they will search for an improvement in this one. They were at the bottom of the Western Division with a 17-30-9 record. The Ducks didn’t do a good job in defense, however, they had much bigger troubles in the offense. Anaheim was scoring just a bit above two goals per match on average, and with that finishing, they should hope for a better campaign in the Pacific Division this season.
The Ducks seem to have improved their efficiency during the preseason, but they have allowed too many goals so far. Anaheim has conceded almost four goals per match on average, and the Kings netted six times against them last time. Anthony Stolarz had a very bad game between the sticks, as his save percentage was .821. Although they held the Kings to only 29 attempts, the Ducks conceded six goals in that match. On the other hand, Nicolas Deslauriers, Jakob Silfverberg, and Rickard Rakell scored a goal each in Anaheim’s losing effort.
Expected Line-Up: Anthony Stolarz, Hampus Lindholm, Jamie Drysdale, Ryan Getzlaf, Rickard Rakell, Jakob Silfverberg
Expert Pick #1 – Los Angeles Kings to win ML @-106
The Kings have been pretty decent so far in the preseason, and they have a chance to build their confidence ahead of the regular season in front of their fans. I believe they will meet the expectations and beat the Ducks for the second time in prep matches. Therefore, I’ll take Los Angeles as my first pick.
Expert Pick #2 – Over 6 @+106
The Ducks have been pretty leaky in the back, while the Kings did pretty well in front of the oppositions’ net. It might be an interesting clash, and I expect it to go over a 6 margin. That’s why I’m taking the Over as my second bet.
Expert Pick #3 – Kings and Over 6 @+205
I’m going to combine the Kings to win with over six goals in total to generate bigger odds. We can get more than twice of our stake if this tip gets successful, and I think it’s worth trying as the third pick.
