Pittsburgh Penguins and Florida Panthers will face each other on Tuesday evening in the NHL 2021-22 action. The hosts search for the best possible position ahead of the playoffs. The away side wants to continue its winning streak and remain on the top of its division.
Pittsburgh can still challenge the top spot in its division, but they need to get back on the winning track. They return home after three straight road games and will try to bounce back. On the other hand, Florida entered a positive run again. The visitors are full of confidence, and they want to pick up where they left off.
Pittsburgh Penguins – Will they bounce back with a win?
The Penguins have had a pretty tough schedule lately, but they have managed to cope with it very well. After celebrating three straight wins, they lost away to the Hurricanes 3-2 after overtime. Although Casey DeSmith had an excellent evening between the pipes, having a .929 save percentage and saving 39 of Carolina’s 42 shots, the Penguins failed to win the game. Nevertheless, Pittsburgh remained joint-second in the Metropolitan Division with a 34-14-9 record. Since the Hurricanes are six points ahead, they will likely fight against the Rangers for the 2nd position in the division.
Jake Guentzel leads the Penguins’ offense with 57 points, being at the same time the team’s top scorer with 27 goals. Sidney Crosby managed to produce a total of 54 points, while Kris Letang tops the assists charts with 43. Bryan Rust has 43 pts, while Evan Rodrigues chipped in with 35. On the other hand, Tristan Jarry has been Pittsburgh’s first-choice goalie, making 44 appearances this season. He allows 2.30 goals per contest, having a .921 save percentage.
Expected Line-Up: Tristan Jarry, Kris Letang, Brian Dumoulin, Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, Bryan Rust

Florida Panthers – Can they continue the run?
The Panthers managed to get back on the top of the Atlantic Division thanks to three straight wins. They are at a 38-13-5 record, being one point ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who has one game in hand. Florida heads to the second outing in a row after beating the Buffalo Sabres 6-1 on the road. Aleksander Barkov led them to success with a goal and a pair of assists, while Mason Marchment had three assists in that match. They want to stay on the winning track and continue the chase for the pole position at the end of the regular season.
Jonathan Huberdeau has been the most dominant skater in the Panthers’ offense with a total of 77 points, including a team-high 59 assists. Aleksander Barkov has produced 55 points and tops the scoring charts with 26 goals. Sam Reinhart has contributed with 53 points, while Aaron Ekblad needs just one to reach the 50-point mark. Besides him, two other skaters managed to chip in with 40+ points. On the goal, Sergei Bobrovsky has spent most of the time with 39 appearances, having a .917 save percentage and allowing 2.54 goals per contest
Expected Line-Up: Sergei Bobrovsky, MacKenzie Weegar, Aaron Ekblad, Jonathan Huberdeau, Sam Bennett, Carter Verhaeghe
Expert Pick #1 – Over 6.5 @-105
Although both defenses have been pretty disciplined this season, these two teams average more than 3.5 goals per game. I expect to see an efficient clash, which should go over a 6.5 margin. Therefore, it is going to be my first pick here.
Expert Pick #2 – Panthers to win (Inc. OT and Pen) @-110
This game can easily go either way, but I’m leaning towards the visitors here. They go to this one after three straight wins, and their confidence is very high. Florida celebrated four times in a row on the away ice, and this might be their fifth straight success. I’ll take them as the second bet.
Expert Pick #3 – Panthers Over 3.5 @+130
The Panthers are among the most productive teams in the NHL this season, and they scored 5+ goals in their previous three outings. I believe they can continue in the same fashion and produce at least four goals for the plus money odds.
