Seattle Kraken will face Philadelphia Flyers in Wednesday’s action in the NHL 2021-22 season. The home side is out of form, and they will hardly get back into the playoffs race. The visitors still hope to snatch a post-season ticket, but they need to stabilize their game.
Seattle had some good streaks during the season, but they are currently in a bad one. Nevertheless, the hosts will try to bounce back and get back on the winning track. On the other hand, Philadelphia is riding on a god wave, and they look forward to keeping up where they left off. The away side still hasn’t given up on the playoffs race, and they hope to stay in the game as long as possible.
Seattle Kraken – Can they end their poor run?
The Kraken have been pretty unpredictable at the beginning of the campaign, and we could expect anything from them. However, we still haven’t seen a lot, as they have had more cold than hot streaks. Seattle sits on the bottom of the Pacific Division with a 10-17-3 record, being 13 points behind the fourth-placed Oilers. They booked just one win on the previous six occasions, losing to Edmonton 5-3 in their latest match. The Kraken was very poor in the offense in that game, having just 17 attempts on goal.
Jordan Eberle has contributed the most in Seattle’s offense with 21 points, including a team-high 12 goals. However, just one more skater managed to reach a 20-point mark, and that’s Jaden Schwartz, who is, at the same time, the Kraken’s best assistant with 14. Jared McCann has produced 17 points, while Yanni Gourde and Alex Wennberg have chipped in with 16 points each. On the goal, Philipp Grubauer has been the first choice in most of the matches, making 23 appearances. He has a .882 save percentage and has allowed 3.29 goals per game on average.
Expected Line-Up: Philipp Grubauer, Jamie Oleksiak, William Borgen, Jared McCann, Alex Wennberg, Marcus Johansson

Philadelphia Flyers – Will they continue with good displays?
The Flyers were in an abysmal form from mid-November to mid-December, when they lost ten times in a row. That terrible run hurt their playoffs bid badly, but the visitors still want to get back into the race. Philadelphia lost only once on the previous five occasions, and they eye an important victory in Seattle. They go to this match after beating the Senators 4-3 at home, with Oskar Lindblom leading them to success with a goal and an assist.
Claude Giroux has been the Flyer’s most dangerous skater in the offense, producing 25 points and topping the assists column with 14. Cam Atkinson is Philadelphia’s best scorer with 12 goals, including 20 points. However, these two players are the only ones to reach a 20-point margin for the visitors. Travis Konecny and Sean Couturier have chipped in with 17 points each, while five more skaters have contributed with ten or more points. On the other hand, Carter Hart has been very good between the pipes with a .918 save percentage and allowing 2.74 goals per contest on 19 appearances.
Expected Line-Up: Martin Jones, Ivan Provorov, Justin Braun, Claude Giroux, James van Riemsdyk, Travis Konecny
Expert Pick #1 – Flyers to win (Inc. OT and Pen) @+115
The Kraken has been struggling in their premiere campaign in the NHL, and Philadelphia should take advantage of that. The visitors have been in a much better form lately, and I’m going to back them on the plus money odds. Give me the Flyers as the first pick.
Expert Pick #2 – Over 6 @-105
Seattle has a very porpus defense, and despite not being too efficient, the Flyers can capitalize on that. Ten of the last 12 Kraken’s games at home went over the margin, while the Over cashed in four of the Flyers’ previous five matches. I’ll take the Over as my second bet.
Expert Pick #3 – Kraken Under 3.5 @-155
Although the odds are a bit shorter here, I think Seattle won’t score more than three goals in this matchup. Philadelphia didn’t allow more than three goals in their last six matches, and that trend might continue here.
