Seattle Kraken will take on Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL 2021-22 action on Monday evening. The hosts have been in solid form over the past two weeks and look forward to another good performance. The away side continues its streak of road matches and wants to build up on their latest display.
Seattle has improved its offense lately, which resulted in three wins on the last four occasions. The home side is still far from the playoffs zone, but there’s still a lot to be played. On the other hand, Pittsburgh wants to secure a post-season spot, and that battle is going to be tough. Therefore, every victory is very important for the visitors.
Seattle Kraken – Will they keep up with good displays?
It will be another match for Seattle in front of the home crowd, and they’ll try to book the second straight win. The hosts go to this clash after beating the Oilers 4-3 and improving to a 9-13-2 record. However, they are still far from the post-season battle, as the Kraken are 7th in the Pacific Division. Nevertheless, they started playing much better in the offense while still allowing too many goals. Their performance in the final third was very balanced, with four different scorers against Edmonton.
Jaden Schwartz leads Seattle’s offense with 17 points, including a team-high 12 assists. Jordan Eberle is the Kraken best scorer with 11 goals, while he has contributed with a total of 16 points, the same as Yanni Gourde. However, Eberle is out of the contest for this game due to an injury. Jared McCann has produced 15 points, while half a dozen of players chipped in with 10+ points each. Philipp Grubauer has spent most of the time between the pipes, allowing 3.02 goals per contest and having a .891 save percentage.
Expected Line-Up: Philipp Grubauer, Jamie Oleksiak, William Borgen, Mason Appleton, Alex Wennberg, Marcus Johansson

Pittsburgh Penguins – Can they stay in the playoffs zone?
The Penguins managed to break their three-game losing streak by beating the Canucks in the latest match. It’s going to be their fourth straight game on the road, where they have been pretty successful this season. Pittsburgh booked five wins in their previous seven outings, and the latest one came in Vancouver. The Penguins are 4th in the Metropolitan Division with an 11-8-5 record and are just one point ahead of the Blue Jackets. Jake Guentzel let Pittsburgh to the victory over the Canucks with three goals and an assist, while Sidney Crosby logged a pair of assists and a goal.
Jake Guentzel has been the Penguins’ top scorer with 13 goals while producing 24 points in total. Kris Letang is the best assistant with 15, while he also scored once. Evan Rodrigues is another player with 16 points, while five other players chipped in with 10+ points. On the other hand, Tristan Jarry has been Pittsburgh’s first-choice goalie, making 20 appearances so far. He has allowed only 1.92 goals per match on average, having an excellent .934 save percentage.
Expected Line-Up: Tristan Jarry, Kris Letang, Brian Dumoulin, Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, Evan Rodrigues
Expert Pick #1 – Penguins to win (Inc. OT and Pen.) @-125
It will be an interesting matchup, as Seattle has improved its form lately. However, they’ll miss their top scorer Jordan Eberle, which is a major setback for the Kraken. On the other hand, Pittsburgh has been excellent on the road lately, and I expect them to deliver another win. I’m taking the visitors as my first pick.
Expert Pick #2 – Under 6 @-115
Although Seattle has been pretty productive lately, I don’t expect this game to go over a 6 margin. The Penguins have been very disciplined in the back, with Tristan Jarry allowing less than two goals per contest. I’ll go with the Under as my second bet.
Expert Pick #3 – Penguins Over 3 @+125
If you search for the plus money odds, that Pittsburgh scoring at least three goals could be a decent choice. The Kraken conceded three or more goals four times in the last five games, and the Penguins could exploit their weak defense. This is going to be my second alternative pick for this game.
