- Main Event: Lukasz Sudolski vs. Igor Poterya
Expert Pick #1 – Sudolski to Win @-115
Lukasz “Pchela” Sudolski is a 193cm tall light heavyweight fighting powerhouse from Poland. He is the 9th ranked of 130 active heavyweights in his country, and he is headed for the UFC Apex facility on an astounding run of 8 consecutive wins (6 of them being finishes). Sudolski is a very aggressive boxer who is also capable of the occasional submission, but it is his punches that have been his weapon of choice in finishing his opponents in previous fights.
In this one, he goes up against fellow Eastern European Igor Poterya from Ukraine. Poterya is decently ranked in his home country, occupying the number 10 spot out of 84 active middleweights. A well rounded martial artist, equally capable on his feet as well as on the ground, “Belomirov” has won six out of his last six fights. This bout makes for a pretty even matchup. However, Sudolski possesses the advantages of height, reach, and weight, and experience. Our experts pick is a win for the Pole.
Records: Lukasz Sudolski 8-0-0 | Igor Poterya 18-2-0 Main Card – Light Heavyweight (205lbs) – Approx. Start Time: 2:00 a.m. ET
Expert Pick #2 – Duncan to Win @-175
Two undefeated lightweights square off in this highly anticipated fight on the main card of DWCS week 5. The Albanian Manuel Gaxhja, fighting out of Amsterdam, Netherlands, goes up against Scottish martial artist Chris Duncan. Gaxhja’s unbeaten run goes as far back as 2014, and he has racked up impressive finishes in that run.
On the night, Chris “The Problem” Duncan, his opponent, is a ruthless fighter currently enjoying a 14-fight winning streak. Duncan is a remarkably durable fighter with loads of experience under his belt. He is also a talented striker and likes to apply pressure on his opponents until he wears them down and ultimately knocks them out. Our experts believe the same will happen in this fight, and the Scottish fighter is expected to end the battle with his streak intact.
Records: Manuel Gaxhja 7-0-0 | Chris Duncan 7-0-0 Main Card – Lightweight (155lbs) – Approx. Start Time: 1:30 a.m. ET
Expert Pick #3 – Zellhuber to win @-110
Daniel “Golden Boy” Olvera Zellhuber is an immensely talented martial artist from the State of Mexico. The Muay Thai/Jiujitsu practitioner is on an incredible run of 11 fights without tasting defeat. He is ranked 5th of 169 active pro lightweights in Mexico and 10th in Latin America. He possesses remarkable striking ability as well as an excellent fight IQ.
His opponent Lucas Oliveira Almeida also boasts a very impressive 12-fight winning streak heading into this bout, with all but one of those wins coming via finishes. Lucas Almeida is the more experienced man in this matchup and arguably the more well-rounded martial artist, although Zellhuber has recently been the more active fighter. The fight to look out for on the card, this one promises to produce fireworks. On the outcome, our experts predict a close win for the Golden Boy Daniel Zellhuber.
Records: Lucas Almeida 12-0-0 | Daniel Zellhuber 11-0-0 Main Card – Lightweight (155lbs) – Approx. Start Time: 1:00 a.m. ET
