Expert Pick #1 – Adesanya to win @-278

Pick Confidence: 8/10 When Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya and Robert “The Reaper” Whittaker faced off in 2019 at UFC 243, the unification bout delivered nothing less than the spectacle that was expected of it. It made for an amazing watch that culminated in a devastating KO victory for Adesanya over “Bobby Knuckles” Whittaker.

Since that defeat Robert Whittaker has put together an impressive three-fight win streak that has put him back again in a position to fight for the middleweight title that he once called his own. In that period, Israel on the other hand has tried to become a two-division champion, failing at the hands of Jan Blachowicz in a humbling loss. But that defeat did not seem to change the state of affairs in the middleweight division however, as Israel still showed that he was a cut above when he recorded a comfortable unanimous decision victory over Marvin Vettori.

A lot has changed for both fighters since 2019. Whittaker appears to have sharpened his technique and found a renewed hunger for the sport, while Israel has actively added more weapons to his already deep and devastating arsenal. This middleweight clash for the ages is a tough one to call, but Israel Adesanya has shown time over that he is deservedly the middleweight king, and our experts expect that to remain so for the foreseeable future.

Records: Israel Adesanya 21-1-0 | Robert Whittaker 24-5-0 Main Card – Middleweight (185lbs) – Approx. Start Time: 1:00 a.m. ET

Expert Pick #2 – Lewis to win @–200

Derrick Lewis makes one of the quicker turnarounds to the octagon when he takes on Tai “Bam Bam” Tuivasa only 55 days after stopping Chris Daukaus’ hype right in it’s tracks. The Black Beast will be looking to do the same to Bam Bam Tuivasa this weekend as the Australian is currently seeking his 5th straight win in the UFC.

Like in many of his matchups, Derrick Lewis comes into this fight with the power advantage. He is also the taller fighter with the longer reach and this could be very decisive when Tuivasa attempts to chop at his legs with leg kicks. Lewis’ reach advantage will make it hard for Tuivasa to trade shots with him without risking getting hit himself, and as we’ve seen multiple times before, all it takes is one hit from The Black Beast to shut your lights out. Our experts predict a win for Derrick Lewis, as he once again makes his way to the top of the heavyweight rankings in search of the elusive championship title.

Records: Derrick Lewis 26-8-0 | Tai Tuivasa 14-3-0 Main Card – Heavyweight (265lbs) – Approx. Start Time: 12:00 a.m. ET

Expert Pick #3 – Green to win @–139

Pick Confidence: 9/10 Bobby Green versus Nasrat Haqparast makes for a very interesting clash at 155 pounds. Both fighters have shown some promise in their outings to the UFC octagon and the stage is set this weekend for either fighter to make a big step up.

And making that step up is something that Nasrat Haqparast has struggled with so far in his UFC career. Bobby Green’s impressive victory over Al Iaquinta in November last year showed a glimpse of what the American was capable of. His speed, movement, striking and output will pose problems for Haqparast. And without any obvious indications of the fight being fought on the canvas, our experts predict a dominant win for Bobby “King” Green.

Records: Nasrat Haqparast 13-4-0 |Bobby Green 28-12-1 Main Card – Lightweight (155lbs) – Approx. Start Time: 11:00 p.m. ET

Revenge for the Reaper?
In the year that Israel Adesanya made his debut in the UFC, Robert Whittaker was already fighting to defend his middleweight title. A year later Israel’s remarkable rise would see him hand Whittaker his first loss in five years, and replace The Reaper as the new undisputed middleweight king. Two years later Robert Whittaker is back and hungrier than ever. His run of victories over his last three fights have brought him face-to-face once again with the man that took his title from him. Does the Reaper have enough in him to exact revenge and reclaim his throne ? Or is the supreme skill of The Last Stylebender just too much for any fighter to best at this moment ? You do not want to miss UFC 271 if you hope to find out. Tune in again next time for the best bets, odds, tips, and predictions
