Expert Pick #1 – Tsarukyan to win @-250
Two of the most outstanding prospects in the UFC Lightweight division Arman Tsarukyan and Mateusz Gamrot square off this Saturday. With similar starts to their UFC careers as they both lost their debut fights, these fighters have a chance to show how much they have improved, and cement their place in the top 10 rankings. Tsarukyan comes into this fight on the back of a five-fight win streak. Gamrot, on the other hand, has won 3 of his last 4 in the UFC.
Both fighters are excellent wrestlers that can cancel out each other if the fight goes to the canvas. We expect the fight to remain on the feet where Tsarukyan has the advantage. Arman Tsarukyan has the speed and movement advantages to deal with the pressure of Mateusz Gamrot. Gamrot has shown in his previous fights that he can get hit a lot. His forward pressure and Tsarukyan’s evasiveness adds up to an outcome where he struggles to land the power punches. And without that we don’t see Gamrot coming out on top in this fight. Our experts predict a win for Arman Tsarukyan in what could be the first installation of a series of fights between these two very talented lightweights.
Records: Arman Tsarukyan 18-2-0 | Mateusz Gamrot 20-1-0 Main Card – Lightweight (155lbs) – Approx. Start Time: 5:00 a.m. ET
Expert Pick #2 – Baudot to win @-120
Josh Parisian and Alan Baudot have had very difficult starts to their UFC careers. Parisian has won just 1 fight in 3 while Baudot is yet to register a win after 3 attempts. These underperforming heavyweights are likely fighting for their futures here as the loser may well be cut from the UFC. Fine margins are going to decide this bout on Saturday and we can see it going either way.
Alan “The Black Samourai” Baudot has the striking advantage in this fight. And although Josh Parisian is known to start fights very strongly in the beginning, his poor cardio fades and his movement becomes sloppy as the fight goes on. Baudot could take advantage of this and utilize his striking or grappling to grind out a victory over 3 rounds. Baudot is in better shape as well, and he looks more likely to edge out a win in this fight. Our experts predict that Alan Baudot does exactly that, as he registers his first win in the UFC.
Records: Josh Parisian 14-5-0|Alan Baudot 8-3-0 Main Card – Heavyweight (265lbs) – Approx. Start Time: 3:00 a.m. ET
Expert Pick #3 – Moises to win @-225
Thiago Moisés squares off against Christos Giagos in another lightweight banger this Saturday. Both fighters have not been doing so well recently, losing 2 of their last 4 fights. But those losses have come against some of the best fighters in the 155-pound division. The fight this weekend presents an opportunity for either fighter to get back to winning ways.
Thiago Moisés is the better fighter in this matchup in pretty much every department. And he has gone up against (and defeated) much better opposition than Christos Giagos. Moisés has the striking, power, speed and volume advantages in this fight. He also has the better wrestling game to add to his finishing ability. Which is why our experts predict a win for Thiago Moisés on the night as he returns to the wins column.
Records: Thiago Moisés 15-6-0|Christos Giagos 19-9-0 Main Card – Lightweight (155lbs) – Approx. Start Time: 2:00 a.m. ET
